Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 2026
Pastfy is designed with privacy first. We do not collect personal information, require accounts, or store your content after it has been delivered.
1. Information We Collect
Pastfy collects the minimum information necessary to operate the service:
- Pairing codes: Temporary 6-digit codes generated to connect your devices. Unpaired codes expire after 8 hours. Once paired, an anonymous session token keeps your devices connected for up to 30 days of inactivity.
- Push notification tokens: If you grant notification permissions, your Expo push token is stored temporarily in memory on our server to deliver notifications. It is never written to disk or shared with third parties.
- Transferred content: Text, links, images, and files you send are relayed in real time and are never written to disk. They exist in server memory only for the brief moment needed to forward them to your device.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other identifying information. No account is required to use Pastfy.
2. How We Use Information
The information described above is used solely to provide the core service — routing content from your computer to your iPhone. We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any other purpose.
3. Data Retention
- Unpaired sessions are held in memory and expire after 8 hours. Paired sessions (and their push tokens) expire after 30 days of inactivity, or immediately when you tap "Disconnect".
- Transferred content is never stored. It is forwarded immediately and discarded.
- Pending content (sent while your phone is offline) is held in memory for up to 10 minutes, then deleted automatically.
- We do not maintain any database of users, sessions, or content.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Two third-party services are involved in operating Pastfy:
- Expo's push notification service (exp.host), which receives your push token and notification payload to deliver notifications to your device.
- RevenueCat, which validates In-App Purchases (see section 5).
Each service's own privacy policy applies to those interactions.
5. In-App Purchases
Pastfy offers an optional one-time "Pro" upgrade purchased through Apple's App Store. Payment is processed entirely by Apple — we never see your payment details.
- Purchase validation: We use RevenueCat to validate purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app-generated identifier and your App Store transaction receipt. It does not receive your name, email, or Apple ID.
- Restore: You can restore a previous purchase at any time from the upgrade screen using the same Apple ID.
RevenueCat's privacy policy applies to purchase validation data.
6. Security
All communication between your devices and the Pastfy server is encrypted via HTTPS/WSS (TLS). Pairing codes are randomly generated and short-lived, making unauthorized access to your session highly unlikely.
7. Children's Privacy
Pastfy is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
